About Hayley Lowe
Hayley was a teacher’s nightmare; her yearning for doodling was a concern for the analytical teaching environment and instead of the conventional university education her parents wished for her, she leaned towards studying art. Hayley passed with flying colours at the Central Institute of Technology (CIT). Her strong character and following her passion for art had taught her to “follow your dream”.
The art of branding
Hayley set out in a journey of discovery and in 1995 travelled to Hong Kong where she gained employment with an international premium watch company. Working with a European company in an Asian country taught her the “value of time”.
Hayley continued to gain experience by joining a western-owned company manufacturing in China. She was given the task of building a brand from nothing. And this she did. In two years the company went from manufacturing one product to manufacturing a line of eighteen products with sales expanding into Europe, USA, South America, Middle East and Asia. The brand that Hayley built had become international and so strong that the brand alone was sold into Europe. She had built an asset and working with this company had taught her the value of “building an asset through vision and art”.
Graphic design success
Hayley arrived back in New Zealand with a wealth of knowledge that gained her a position with Lion Breweries where she was instrumental in designing the Pub Posters that adorned beer drinkers’ and rugby fanatics’ walls during the late 90s. Then it was on to Deloitte’s where she managed the Wellington graphic design team. Being back in New Zealand, Hayley realised she still had a “need to learn”.
Presenting to Europe
In 2000, the accumulation of her experiences and her past travel led to a desire to travel again and she headed to Europe. After negotiation, Hayley contracted to the conferencing industry - travelling around Europe with production teams, putting together and operating live presentations using Photoshop & PowerPoint for top CEOs of companies including HSBC, BT (British Telecom), BitC (Business in the Community), Knorr & Orange, plus presentations for government ministers.
The timeframes were very tight and often bedtime was not before 2 or 3am the day before a show! Working under pressure is just one thing that Hayley excels at!
One of Hayley’s accolades was the putting together of a presentation for Prince Charles’s charity, the Prince’s Trust, which he presented at Leeds football stadium with Hayley operating the show; another is being flown to Bangkok from New Zealand to design and operate an international conference presentation for BAT PLC.
Hayley’s European experience taught her the value of “working under pressure”.
Founding Lime-Red
Hayley met Callum in 2000 and found that their dreams and job aspirations were similar, with Callum’s I.T. knowledge complementing Hayley’s knowledge of design, branding and presentation. In 2004 the pair settled back into New Zealand and Hayley founded Lime-Red Design Ltd to offer New Zealand businesses her wealth of international knowledge.
A belief system that works
Hayley believes her life experiences, which are now the cornerstones of her business, can only enhance the international knowledge she has available to pass on to her clients:
- Follow your dream
- Appreciate the value of time
- Build an asset through vision and art
- Work well under pressure
- Continue to learn
